Grand Island woman accused of stabbing husband with kitchen knife
A Grand Island man is recovering after authorities say his wife stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man is recovering after authorities say his wife stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
Grand Island Police responded to a domestic assault call around 5:00 Friday evening. A news release says a man told officers his wife, Yudierquis Reyes Merino, stabbed him in the leg, scratched his face and used a key to cause lacerations on his chest and hands. Emergency personnel transported the man to a hospital for treatment.
Police say Reyes Merino admitted to stabbing her husband. Investigators determined a seven-month-old child was present for the altercation, adding to the charges.
Police arrested Reyes Merino for second-degree domestic assault, intentional child abuse and a weapons charge.
