KEARNEY, Neb. — The Kearney Police Department is investigating its second report of a shooting in one day.

The most recent incident happened shortly before 11:00 Sunday night, according to police radio traffic. Police posted on social media around 11:15 p.m. that officers responded to a report of gun shots fired. Investigators were on scene in the 600 block of W 25th. St., which is three blocks east of the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus.

Around 2:30 Sunday morning, officers responded to a report of a shooting a block south of campus. A news release says a man suffered a stab wound but nobody was hit by the gunfire. At the time of the release, police didn’t have any suspects.
