GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A Grand Island man is recovering after authorities say he was stabbed and bitten.

The incident happened around 8:00 Monday night in the 1700 block of South Lincoln Avenue, according to the Grand Island Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched to a report of a weapons offense and found a victim with multiple wounds.

The victim reportedly told officers that Adbulrahman Mahmood attempted to stab him multiple times while saying he would kill the man.

According to GIPD, the victim has a knife wound to the eyebrow and bite mark so severe, it nearly severed the tip of the man's finger.

Officers said they arrested Mahmood away from the scene. He is charged with of first-degree assault, terroristic threats and a weapons violation.
