Kimball woman arrested near Lexington following 140 mph pursuit

LEXINGTON, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol said they arrested a 46-year-old Kimball woman after an Interstate 80 pursuit Thursday night.
NSP said around 9:10 p.m. Thursday, a trooper saw an Infiniti G 37 going 117 mph on I-80 near mile marker 264, and tried to pull her over.
The driver, Rebecca Brown, refused to yield and accelerated, and NSP said the trooper initiated a pursuit.
Brown reached 140 mph while fleeing heading west, according to the State Patrol.
NSP said another trooper was able to successfully deploy stop sticks to slow the vehicle.
After slowing, Brown drove into the north ditch and came to a stop near mile marker 237.
Brown reportedly refused to exit the vehicle for several minutes.
NSP said after about seven minutes, Brown exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
Brown was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several traffic violations.
She was lodged in Dawson County Jail.
NSP said Lexington Police Department and Dawson County Sheriff's Office assisted in the incident.
