HASTINGS, Neb. -- While many parts of the state dealt with red flag warnings and fire danger over the weekend, central Nebraska got some relief, albeit a brief respite.

Hastings got an early-spring thunderstorm, receiving approximately half an inch of rain.

But it wasn't all good news for those who did early-season gardening ahead of the storm.

Included in the thunderstorm was approximately 20 minutes worth of hail.

Rain will continue to be a rarity this week, with much of Nebraska still under the risk of fires.

Nearly all of Nebraska remains affected by drought-like conditions.
