Authorities provide update on weekend homicide in Marquette
A central Nebraska man is behind bars after police say he killed his wife in Marquette.
MARQUETTE, Neb. -- A central Nebraska man is behind bars after police say he killed his wife in Marquette.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in Marquette around 12:45 Sunday afternoon.
Deputies found 49-year-old Angela Adams dead at the scene. Her husband, 47-year-old Jeffrey Adams, wasn’t at the house, but turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office a short time later.
Jeffrey Adams was then arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol.
A news release said the incident began as an argument and Jeffrey Adams ended up hitting his wife multiple times before leaving the home.
He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
The NSP, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and Hamilton County Attorney are the agencies providing the update.
This is an ongoing investigation.
