GRAND ISLAND, Neb.-- A New York- based company is seeking a permit that would allow it to build a data center in Hall County.

VCV Digital says data centers need to be close to power and that is why it’s looking at this spot in central Nebraska.

The VCV officials presented this at the Hall County Commissioners meeting this morning. The officials say the data center will hold racks with computers that will host bitcoin miners.

According to a VCV official, the project would generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual tax revenue.

Some people voiced their concerns over the data center citing noise levels.
