UNK climbs two spots to No. 22 in latest NCAA Division II football poll
WACO, Tex. -- The UNK football team climbed two spots in the latest NCAA Division II football rankings.
The Lopers jumped from No. 24 to No. 22 in the AFCA Coaches Poll after claiming their fourth straight win, a 39-18 triumph at Missouri Western.
UNK's lone loss on the season is a 35-28 home loss to seventh-ranked Pittsburg State, during which the Gorillas hit a 72-yard scoring strike with 12 seconds left to play.
The Lopers will aim for a fifth straight win when they host Emporia State. The Hornets' lone losses of the season are a one-point defeat vs. Pittsburg State and an eight-point loss at Central Oklahoma.
UNK has surrendered just over 14 points per game during its recent four-game winning streak. The Lopers will face a stiff challenge in the Hornets, who have scored 43 points per game during their past two contests.
