HASTINGS, Neb. — Nebraska football fans have a chance to escape to better days through the Hastings Museum.

The museum is showing “Day By Day: The Rise” on its 65-foot super screen. The documentary was spearheaded by a pair of former Husker players and chronicles the program’s rise to wining three national championships in the 90s.

Hastings Museum Director of Marketing Becky Tideman says showing the film in Hastings is a natural fit.

“We’re the hometown of Tom Osborne. So that’s a biggie, but also (there’s) just a lot of Husker fans," Tideman said. "Not only Dr. Osborne’s impact on the Huskers and how that plays out here, but really his impact at Hastings College. We’re where he was raised but we’re also the hometown of his undergrad.”

The documentary’s trailer played at the Spring Game and Tideman says she immediately started getting requests to bring the film to town. Hastings is among the first cities outside of Omaha and Lincoln to offer it and the museum is the first to display it on a super screen.

Sunday’s showing nearly sold out and Tideman says sales are going well for the four showings scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
