Two blocks in east Kearney set to close for 3+ months

A two block stretch of road in east Kearney is scheduled to close for months.

KEARNEY, NE — A two block stretch of road in east Kearney is scheduled to close for months.

Starting Wednesday, the city says 31st St. from Avenue G to Avenue I will be closed for construction. Work will include total roadway removal and replacement, water main upgrades and sanitary improvements. Construction is expected to last until mid-October.

The city says access to homes will be made through alleys or side streets. Officials are urging people to use extreme caution while driving in the area. The construction zone will be on the north side of Dryden Park.
