Buffalo County hosting community meetings to talk comprehensive plan

Leaders in Buffalo County are looking for public input while developing a new comprehensive plan.

KEARNEY, NE — Leaders in Buffalo County are looking for public input while developing a new comprehensive plan.

As part of the Buffalo County Comprehensive Planning Program, officials are holding three meetings on June 22 to get feedback. 

Elm Creek – 3:00pm, Village/Fire Hall (535 West Boyd Street). 

Ravenna – 5:00pm, City Auditorium (112 West Genoa Street). 

Gibbon – 7:00pm, City Library Community Room (116 La Barre Street). 

The meetings follow a county-wide opinion survey which aimed to gauge the public’s priorities. A news release specifically named land development and preservation efforts as important topics.

The comprehensive plan will include a review of existing and future land use, public facilities, and an economic development profile and plan.
