HASTINGS, NE — The Executive Director of the Hastings College Foundation is moving on but is expected to still be connected to the college.
A college spokesman says Gary Freeman has accepted a position with the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation. He had served in his role with the Hastings College Foundation since 2013. While in charge, Freeman helped grow the college’s endowment to more than $100 million. The foundation also supported the construction of the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center, renovation of the Daugherty Center for Student Engagement and other campus projects.
"I want to thank all of my friends and colleagues at Hastings College for their great work on behalf of this institution," Freeman said in a news release. "Hastings College is and will forever be a big part of who I am and I will always be a Bronco! I look forward to staying closely connected to HC and offering assistance in any way I can."
Freeman, a 1993 Hastings College graduate, is working with the college president and foundation board on a transition plan to enable him to stay connected to the school.
