LINCOLN - In a statement Tuesday, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts blamed economic inflation on President Joe Biden and called for biofuels priorities that feature ethanol made with Nebraska-grown corn.

Ricketts said the price of wholesale ethanol has recently been as much as $1.20 per gallon less than expensive gasoline and cuts greenhouse emissions by 43 percent compared to gasoline.

He said about 35 to 40 percent of the state’s corn crop currently goes to the ethanol industry.

The governor says Nebraska has demonstrated that E30 fuels can be used in regular vehicles without reducing performance or requiring extra maintenance.

Ricketts also called for Biden to end obstructions to drilling in Alaska and cutting government regulations on energy production.
