NDCS: Corporal at York facility arrested

A 40-year-old employee with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has been arrested.

YORK, Neb. -- A 40-year-old employee with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has been arrested.

The NDCS said in a press release Thursday morning that 40-year-old Nicole Eliker, a corporal at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women, was arrested on Wednesday by the Nebraska State Patrol for unauthorized communication with a committed offender. The person with whom she is accused of interacting is currently on parole supervision.

Unauthorized communication with a committed offender is a felony offense.

Eliker has been employed by NDCS since August of 2012. Her only location of employment was NCCW. NDCS said in its press release that Eliker has resigned her position at the facility.
