MERRICK COUNTY, Neb. -- A teenager from central Nebraska is dead after a weekend car accident.

The Merrick County Sheriff's office says crews were called Sunday evening near Chapman Road on 5th Road for a one-vehicle accident.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

The sheriff's office said speed and alcohol were not contributing factors in this crash.
