911 services back up after brief outage in Adams Co.
Hastings Police said 911 services were interrupted for about two hours early Friday morning.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings Police said 911 services were interrupted for about two hours early Friday morning.
Just after midnight, HPD was made aware of people trying to call 911 but were unable to get through. It didn’t matter if it was a cell phone or a landline calling, the phone would either not ring or just continuously ring with nobody answering.
The non-emergency number was also not working.
HPD Captain Mike Doremus said they realized it wasn’t just a Hastings or Adams County issue, but it involved a big chunk of eastern Nebraska.
The service was restored around 2 a.m.
Hastings Police, who handles all 911 calls for Adams County, said they quickly worked out a plan while 911 was down. They posted the numbers of department cell phones on the HPD Facebook page for people to contact.
Captain Doremus said they did have a few calls from that.
He adds that the Public Service Commission is investigating to determine what cause dthe 911 outage.
