Kansas man arrested after pursuit near Wood River

A Kansas man is behind bars after a pursuit in central Nebraska.

WOOD RIVER, Neb. -- A Kansas man is behind bars after a pursuit in central Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper saw a car driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-80 early Thursday morning near Wood River.

According to NSP, the trooper tried to make a stop, but the driver fled.

A short time later, the trooper successfully stopped the car.

Authorities say the driver then refused to get out and kicked the trooper several times.

31-year-old Casey Jasper, of Chanute, Kansas, was arrested on multiple charges.
