Fundraiser for family of victim of G.I. workplace accident

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The car and truck community in Grand Island rallied around the family of Gavin Schwartz holding a fundraiser on Sunday.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Gavin Schwartz died in a workplace accident last week.
Some people who knew Schwartz held a car meet fundraiser to help with funeral expenses following his unexpected death.
While at the event people could get food from two food trucks, view unique cars and buy raffles tickets for things like oil changes.
One of the organizers said his death affected a lot of people.
“The motivation was basically all of us here in the truck community in Grand Island knew Gavin whether it be in a parking lot at Walmart, or just hanging out with him you know we had knew of him,” Kyleigh Smith said.
It was announced near the end of the event that they had raised over $6,000.
