SHERMAN COUNTY, Neb. -- A central Nebraska county is under a flood warning.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning Thursday morning for parts of the Middle Loup River in Sherman County.

Officials say it is due to ice buildup restricting flow along the river.

Low-lying pasture land near the river may be impacted.

As of Thursday morning, the river level gauges read 8.5 feet, which indicates minor flooding in some areas.

Flooding in some pasture land is expected, both upstream and downstream of the Rockville River Gauge.

The warning is currently set to expire Friday morning at 6:15 a.m. CST.
