North Star smothers Norfolk to get back to .500

NORFOLK - Lincoln North Star Head Coach Tony Quattrocchi says in his 19 years as coach, the Navigators have always shot well in the Panther Gym.

That held again on Friday, as a team that came into the game averaging 24% from 3 shot 48% as a squad - including a blistering 8-of-12 in the second half.

But even without their best shooting performance of the season, North Star's defense would have done plenty to beat Norfolk. 

The Navigators' zone shut Norfolk down completely, keeping the Panthers to just four first-half points on 2-of-20 shooting from the field.

Norfolk found a bit of a rhythm in the second half, but by then it was too late to prevent their ninth loss of the season.

North Star's win ends a three-game losing streak and gets them back to .500 on the season.
