GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A Grand Island man was arrested Thursday night after a traffic stop on a toy scooter.

Just after 11:00 p.m., officers noticed 35-year-old Christopher Perez driving a battery-powered scooter without a headlight near the intersection of 14th Street and W. Pine Road.

Officers then attempted to pull over Perez, who police say resisted at first before he eventually stopped.

GIPD said that while Perez was being searched, police found just under 20 grams of methamphetamine and materials for drug distribution.

Perez was arrested on several drug charges.

He was referred for unlawful use of a toy vehicle.
