Hastings man facing felony charges in fatal crash

A Hastings man is facing charges in the death of two teenagers following a fatal car accident in central Nebraska.

HASTINGS, Neb. -- A Hastings man is facing charges in the death of two teenagers following a fatal car accident in central Nebraska. 

According to Adams County Court records, 32-year-old Anthony Pingel, is charged with two counts of felony motor vehicle homicide-DUI.

Sixteen-year-old Victoria Fleming, of Superior and 18-year-old Tristen Owens, of Hastings were killed in the December 12th crash east of Hastings. 

Two others were injured. 

According to the arrest affidavit, one of the deputies notified the other that they smelt the odor of alcohol coming from Pingel at the accident scene. 

Pingel was arrested with his bond set at $250,000.

He is expected to be back in court January 6th.
