A Grand Island man faces decades in prison after being convicted of charges related to a stabbing.

24-year-old Thomas Franks pleaded no contest to felony assault and weapon charges in Hall County District Court. Prosecutors dropped three other charges in response to his plea.

Franks was arrested in May after a stabbing at a Grand Island car dealership.
Witnesses said the crime happened after two people started an argument.

Franks faces up to 70 years in prison when he's sentenced in March.
