Grand Island man sentenced in death of Chadron man

A Grand Island man has been sentenced in a deadly crash that killed a Chadron man.

KEARNEY, Neb. -- A Grand Island man has been sentenced in a deadly crash that killed a Chadron man.

According to Buffalo County Court records, 26-year-old Sergio Tinajero was sentenced to 60 days in jail and one year of probation for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide. A second charge in the case has been dismissed.

Authorities say Tinajero was the driver of a pickup involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 2 east of Ravenna back in March. The crash led to the led of 52-year-old Curtis Deines, of Chadron.
