NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- North Platte's most extensive tax increment financing project to date is one step close to reality.

The community redevelopment authority Monday advanced redevelopment plan for sustainable beef, LCC to the North Platte City Council.

The company is proposing a $325 million meat-processing facility that will employ 875 people and process 1,500 cattle a day.

Sustainable beef is asking for $21.5 million in tax increment financing for the project.

The city council will take up the request at their meeting Tuesday evening.
