Gratitude journals helping nurse through the pandemic

The long days and long nights take a toll on medical professionals, but a team at CHI Health Saint Francis did the research to find out to help nurses.
The researchers at Saint Francis saw from their research that gratitude journals were the best help for their employees.
Adriane Ogden put the project together and she says the gratitude journals helped put the nurses in the right mindset to handle the public health crisis.
“I think that our research shows that a gratitude journal or even just thinking of thankfulness everyday can have an impact on your overall well being mindfulness that you use throughout your life and it’s easy to do anywhere,” Ogden said. “We actually offered it to all nurses and nursing assistants at the hospitals so our foundation purchased enough for everyone to have one.”
The journals last for 90 days, but they helped get the nurses into the habit of positive reflection.
