Man killed after car hits train in Hall County

Authorities say a Nebraska man is dead after a train accident near Alda in Hall County.

HALL COUNTY, Neb. -- Authorities say a Nebraska man is dead after a train accident in Hall County.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a report of an injury accident at Highway 30 and Schimmer Road near Alda Wednesday night.

They say a car had hit a Union Pacific train.

The driver, 65-year-old Paul Arndt of Alda, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

An investigation is ongoing.
