Hazardous weather expected throughout most of Nebraska

A Hazardous Weather alert has been put into effect throughout western and north-central Nebraska.

A Hazardous Weather alert has been put into effect throughout western and north-central Nebraska.

Thunderstorms are expected to form this evening ahead of a cold front and continue into the overnight hours. Strong to severe storms are possible across much of western and north-central Nebraska.

Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. 

Heavy rain is also possible over north-central Nebraska.

Also, elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will continue this evening across portions of the eastern Panhandle and western Sandhills.
