(Peru, Neb.) – Peru State head volleyball coach Laurie Felderman announced the schedule for the 2021 Bobcat volleyball schedule. The 'Cats will have their normal season this year compared to last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Peru State is scheduled to play 34 regular season games with a 19-game conference schedule.

The 2021 schedule for Peru State will have 13 home contests compared to 21 away games, in addition to a tournament that they are hosting early in September.

The 'Cats will be opening up play on the road in the KCAC Fling Classic in Hutchinson, Kan. Day one of the Classic the volleyball team will play Avila (Mo.) and Bethel (Kan.) on Aug. 20. On day two the Bobcats will play Southwestern (Kan.) and York.

The 'Cats will be participating in the GoSarpy.com Tournament in Bellevue, Neb. On Sept. 2 the volleyball team will be playing Valley City State (N.D.). On Sept. 3 they will be up against Carroll (Mont.) and Montana Tech.

Peru State will open Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) play at home on Sept. 6 versus Culver-Stockton (Mo.) at 11 a.m.

The Bobcats will host their Bobcat Fall Classic on Sept. 10 and 11. On day one of the Classic, the 'Cats will play Mount Marty (S.D.). On Saturday Peru State will play Presentation (S.D.) and Dakota State (S.D.).

After their Fall Classic the Bobcats have two road games and one neutral site game. Two of the three games are Heart games. The first road game is on Sept. 17 against Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The second Heart game is in Dubuque, Iowa, against Clarke on Sept. 18 and on the same day the volleyball team will play Cardinal Stritch (Wisc.).

After the three-game road stretch the team will be back in the Al Wheeler Activity Center (AWAC) for three straight conference games. The 'Cats will then have a big stretch when they have a seven-game road stretch with six of the seven games being against the conference. The lone non-conference will be on Oct. 2 when they face Columbia (Mo.) in Oskaloosa, Iowa, following their conference game with William Penn.

Hall of Fame Weekend, Oct. 15 and 16, the Bobcats will be at home hosting Mount Mercy Friday afternoon prior to the Hall of Fame Banquet. Then, they will host Clarke in their "Dig Pink" game following the football game that day.

After a pair of road games, the Bobcats will finish up the 2021 regular season with four straight home games.

Their senior recognition day will be Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. when they host Central Methodist (Mo.). The final regular season home game will be against Grand View (Iowa) at 7 p.m.

The Heart post-season tournament will feature the top teams from the conference and will begin on November 6 with the higher seed being the host site.

The 2021 preseason NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll or conference poll has yet to be released but will be soon. Last season, Heart foes Park (Mo.), Grand View, and Central Methodist all finished in the final Top 25 at sixth, ninth, and 11th respectively. In addition, Heart's MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) was the top vote getter outside of the Top 25.

Also, 2021 opponents Midland and Bellevue were in the Top 20. Midland finished as the national runner-up while Bellevue was 18th.

With that being said, the Bobcats will have to play tough in each match as they will be facing a tough schedule all year long.
