The Sheridan County Regulators almost pulled off the comeback through the losers bracket of the Class C Area 7 American Legion tournament, defeating Imperial 3-0 in the championship game and then falling 8-6 in the 2nd and decisive game.

The Regulators played error free baseball in the opener, dropping 2 runs in the 1st and 1 in the 5th to force the “if necessary” game.

Just like the semifinal game on Saturday, the 2nd game on Monday night came down to the last inning.

Sheridan County jumped out to a 6-3 lead through four complete innings, but the Horns added 3 runs in the 5th to tie the game and then walked it off with 2 in the bottom of the 7th.

Imperial advances to next week’s Class C state tournament in Pender.
