One injured in rollover accident near Sidney involving military Humvee

SIDNEY, NE — One person was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle accident east of Sidney Wednesday.

SIDNEY, NE — One person was taken to the hospital after a single vehicle accident east of Sidney Wednesday. 

According to an accident report from the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office, an Air Force Humvee from F.E. Warren Air Force Base was southbound on County Road 129 near Highway 30 when it left the road, hit an embankment and flipped. 

Authorities say the car landed on its driver side facing northbound. 

The passenger, 22-year-old Aaron Senasac was taken to Sidney Regional Medical Center with a suspected serious injury. The driver, 22-year-old Brandon Gerbig was not hurt according to the accident report. 

The Humvee sustained about $1,500 in damage.
