Man's body found in Missouri River

A man's body was recovered near Ivy Island Wildlife Management Area.

A man's body was recovered from the Missouri River.

A fisherman new Onawa, Iowa, called 911 Sunday afternoon to report that he had found a body near the Ivy Island Wildlife Management Area. 

Authorities say the man appeared to have been in the river for some time.

The Monona Sheriff's Office asked area law enforcement agencies to check their missing person reports.

The body was taken to the medical examiner in Sioux City for an autopsy.
