When Keep Chadron Beautiful opened up their 12th electronic recycling event last Saturday it was intended to run from 9:00 am to noon, but by 11:00 am those wishing to deposit recyclables were being turned away.

Keep Chadron Beautiful Director Susan Hucke told Chadrad news that she was surprised when she was told they needed to stop taking additional items.

Hucke says that having COVID delay the event by a year, and the collection of the CRT monitors, led to a record amount of recycled electronics in terms of total pounds.

There are some leftover items that Hucke says will be dealt with through the help of their Nebraska affiliate in Kimball, but if you didn’t even get to leave the electronics you were trying to get rid of, Hucke says an extra event may be scheduled.
