LINCOLN — #6 Scottsbluff closed the game on a 12-0 run to beat #3 Crete 34-20 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Bearcats (19-6) advance to face #2 Elkhorn North in the semifinals. Crete ends its season at 21-4.

Jump shots weren’t falling for either team in the first half. Scottsbluff scored the only two points of the second quarter and led 9-8 at halftime.

The Bearcats used an aggressive full-court press to disrupt Crete. That defensive intensity carried over to the second half and allowed Scottsbluff to stretch its advantage to seven points entering the fourth.

The Cardinals finally found their range to start the fourth. They opened the quarter on a 7-2 run propelled by a Brooke Deisley three-pointer to cut their deficit to 22-20. That’s when the Bearcats reset and closed the game on the 12-0 spurt to secure the win.

Scottsbluff sophomore Sabrina Harsh finished with a game-high 17 points. Her offensive rebounds and blocked shots help the Bearcats create distance between themselves and the Cardinals.
