SIDNEY, NE — A standup comedian is bringing his act to Sidney later this month. 

The High Plains Arts Council is bringing Rex Havens to town on Saturday, Feb. 27. He will take the stage at Sidney High School to present his show Women and Children First! The show is family-friendly and multi-media, using 500 images, 10 videos and 15 audio clips. 

Havens is a former college professor who transitioned into standup comedy in the 1908s. He has performed in all 50 state in the U.S. and 20 countries and has opened for Jerry Seinfeld and Jeff Foxworthy. 

He's also appeared on HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central and is a regular on Sirius/XM radio. 

The High Plains Arts Council is working with Panhandle Public Health District to ensure that precautions for COVID-19 are taken during the show. 

Tickets will be available at the door. They are $13 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students, including WNCC. Children under 5 are free. The show will start at 7:00 p.m.
