Lourdes Central Catholic wins a decisive District game on homecoming night against the Freeman Falcons
NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - On a chilly fall homecoming night for the Lourdes Central Catholic Knights football squad, a decisive victory was claimed over the Freeman Falcons in a 54-14 fashion.
Lourdes starting Quarterback, Junior Blake Miller, was the star of the entire show. Miller picked off Falcons sophomore quarterback Colton Ruse on Freeman's opening drive, and then ran in a touchdown from 11 yards out. Miller would then proceed to rush for another three touchdowns on the ground, including a 56 yard rushing touchdown, and two touchdowns through the air, featuring a 55 yard passing touchdown to junior Beau Lee.
Lee would also go ahead and intercept Colton Ruse in the fourth quarter, grabbing his fifth interception on the season. Colton Ruse would manage to find senior running back and brother Holden Ruse on a 11 yard touchdown pass. Holden would also record the only other Falcon touchdown on a 1 yard touchdown run. Knights Junior running back Aidan Aldana would be the only other scorer, who managed to run from 42 yards out for a touchdown.
Lourdes moves to a 4-2 record, winning four straight and taking first place in the District D1-2 standings. Freeman drops to a 4-2 record. The Falcons will face Tri-County at home next week, while the Knights will go on the road to Johnson County Central. For more news, keep it refreshed here with News Channel Nebraska.
