Scottsbluff man injured after being struck by car
SCOTTSBLUFF - Scottsbluff police say one man was taken to a hospital after being struck by a car Monday morning.
According to a news release from the Scottsbluff Police Department, 21-year-old James Hannarford was walking east on the sidewalk near the 1100 block of East Overland just before 6:00 a.m. Monday. 19-year-old Elijah Sepulveda was also heading east when his car left the roadway and struck Hannaford.
First responders transported Hannaford to Regional West Medical Center with minor injuries. Police cited Sepulveda for failure to yield to a pedestrian and for not having a valid registration.
Police say fatigue was a contributing factor to the accident. The Scottsbluff Police Department, Scottsbluff Fire Department and Valley Ambulance responded to the incident.
