OMAHA - The Omaha Riverfront will soon be the home to a science museum.

The Omaha City Council announced Thursday plans for the new 82,000 square-foot science center in Omaha’s Riverfront.

The glass and steel building will overlook the Missouri River, and aims to bring learners of all ages to an interactive facility that will focus on areas of science, math, engineering, and technology.

The proposed $101 million facility will be privately funded but will require the participation of the City of Omaha with a ground lease since the center will be sited on city-owned ground.
