STANTON COUNTY - A rural Howells man is facing his fifth DWI charge after being stopped for speeding in Stanton County.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says on Friday morning at about 1:50 a.m., the Stanton County Sheriff’s office stopped a car speeding on Highway 15 about 3 miles South of Pilger.

The Sheriff's Office says the driver, Lance Pfeifer, 32 of rural Howells was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended Kansas driver’s license.

Pfeifer was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving During Suspension, Open Container of Alcoholic Liquor, and Speeding.

Authorities say Pfeifer was found to have four prior convictions for DWI and was released after being booked on those charges and posting a $10,000.00 bond.
