No graduation ceremony for Gothenburg 2020 seniors

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Another casualty of COVID-19 is the 2020 graduation ceremony planned for Saturday, August 1st for the graduating class of Gothenburg High School in Gothenburg.

School officials called off the ceremony at the advice of local health department and health officials due to the current rate of COVID-19 infection in the community of Gothenburg.

Instead, graduates will pick up their diplomas on Monday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., and are given the opportunity to bring along their caps and gowns for a portrait which will be shared online on social media.
