In an unexpected move Omaha appears ready to give motor scooters the green light, just one week after refusing to let them back on the streets.

By a slim four-to-three vote last Tuesday the city council shelved the scooters but now one of those four votes is changing.

Councilman Ben Gray voted against scooters complaining first and foremost that the scooter companies had ignored his mostly black district during last year's initial pilot program.

Gray says he's been told that won't happen again.
.
Mayor Stothert has been backing the scooters, which are likely to hit the streets by late July.
