Juveniles found asleep in vehicle with revolver

LINCOLN - There was a heavy police presence early Wednesday morning near 48th and Duxhall in Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department said a neighbor called first responders because his car was being blocked by another car and the driver looked to be unresponsive or asleep.

LPD said when firefighters approached the car blocking the driveway, firefighters saw someone in the car with a revolver in their hand.

Officers said there were three teenage boys in the car, two 15-year olds and a 17-year old.

LPD said when the teens woke up, there were no issues, however, police said the boys had been drinking.

According to officers, the gun belonged to a family member and the teens told officers they were trying to scare somebody with it.

All three have been referred to the county attorney for charges. The 17-year old is facing theft of a weapon charges, one 15-year old is facing minor in possession charges, and the other 15-year old is facing possession of a firearm charges.
