On Saturday, James Scurlock was found by Omaha Police suffering from a gunshot wound at 1207 Harney Street. That night, Jake Gardner was arrested for the shooting.
Scurlock later died of his injury. On June 1st, a press conference was held by Don Kleine, an attorney for Douglas County, presenting the evidence surrounding the case and law enforcement's consensus on whether charges will be sought against Jake Gardner.
After deliberating the evidence, which can be viewed in the video above, the decision was reached to not pursue charges for the time being. However, as the investigation is still ongoing, charges may be possible at a later date.
