CHAPPELL - A disturbance is expected to bring heavy snow accumulation across much of southeast Wyoming and the southern Nebraska panhandle, according to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne.
A winter storm watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon for Cheyenne, Kimball, Deuel, Banner, Morrill, Garden, Scotts Bluff and Keith Counties in Nebraska; Laramie and Goshen Counties in Wyoming; and Logan, Sedgewick and Weld Counties in Colorado.
The weather service says models have been consistent that an incoming low pressure system across Colorado will bring snow, but the exact location that will see heaviest band will be determined in the next 24 hours. The main area the NWS is watching is along the Cheyenne Ridge, northward toward the Pine Ridge in Niobrara County.
Heavy snow will be possible during the watch period. Total snow accumulations will range from 6 to 10 inches.
The NWS advises travel could be very difficult to impossible Wednesday evening through Friday morning. They say to plan on travel delays and snow covered roads.
