Nebraska City - Bill Harvey, District 5650 Rotary Foundation Chair spoke with Nebraska City Rotarians on Wednesday afternoon.  His message focused on the charitable core of The Rotary Foundation, and the impact the organization can have not only on the local community, but worldwide.

"I was really glad to have the opportunity today to talk to the Nebraska City Rotary Club about the Rotary Foundation.  It's such a tremendous organization, it has global recognition, and it ties Rotarians all over the world together.  There are about 1.2 million Rotarians all over the world, and the foundation really ties us together.

"If you go on Charity Navigator, which is the principle site for finding out about charities.  You'll see that Rotary Foundation has received the highest four star rating from that every year for the last 12 years.  That's really a tremendous vote of confidence by Charity Navigator.  CNN has made awards to it, there's all kinds of organizations and accolades that The Rotary Foundation has received."

"The great thing is they are getting the money out there where it's needed. They have a 92% ratio of getting the dollars out directly out towards the projects.  Which is tremendous in the charitable world. I'm very proud as a Rotarian to be associated with the foundation, and we just want to help them do as much good in the world as we can do".
