Travel Not Advised For Sunday Evening in Southeastern Nebraska And Southwestern Iowa

Nebraska City- A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, NE for portions of Southeast and East Central Nebraska as well as Southwest Iowa until 9:00pm Sunday evening. 

 

 

Mixed precipitation, including patchy freezing drizzle has created slippery road conditions throughout much of Eastern Nebraska late Sunday afternoon into the evening.  Residents of Nebraska City are reporting ice covered windshields, and very slick driving conditions on Highway 2 and 75. The Nebraska State Patrol has reported several slide offs on I-80 and advise to "take it slow and keep off the cruise control in these conditions".

In Southwest Iowa The Fremont County Sheriff's Office is reporting travel is not advised due to extremely icy conditions. Several accidents have been seen across the county.
