Police: attempted robbery, man shot in Benson parking lot

A man was shot overnight in a Benson parking lot and now police say he is fighting for his life.

OMAHA — A man was shot overnight in a Benson parking lot and now police say he is fighting for his life.

Omaha officers were called to Corisca Management apartments near 66th Street and Fowler Avenue around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators reported 56-year-old Hsar Doh was sitting in a car with friends when two men approached the vehicle in an attempt to rob them.

Police say during the robbery attempt shots were fired and the suspects ran off.

Investigators found Doh with a gunshot wound.

Doh was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Police then said he went into surgery. Police said in an updated report he has non-life threatening injuries.

This investigation in ongoing.
