GRAND ISLAND - The winter weather made for dangerous driving conditions on Saturday, and crews in Grand Island were kept busy after a semi slid off the road.

The Grand Island Fire Department says the semi was traveling southbound on Highway 281 and Old Highway 30 around 9:00 PM when it lost control. Officials say the semi hit a house after it left the roadway.

It took crews four hours to get the semi out and the area cleared up for traffic. No injuries were reported, and the cost of the damage to both the semi and the home is unknown at this time.
