Plea deal reached in local residential burglary

BEATRICE – An 18-year-old Beatrice man has pleaded guilty to having a role in a local residential burglary….as part of a plea agreement resulting in dismissal of sixteen other charges against him.

Dalton Blair pleaded guilty Thursday to felony charges of burglary and possession of a stolen firearm.  Seven counts of possession of a stolen firearm, eight charges of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and one count of theft were dismissed in the case.

Blair will be sentenced, January 22nd.  He was a suspect in a North 11th Street Beatrice residential burglary in which several firearms were stolen.   A second suspect, Trey Billesbach, is facing pending charges. 

Beatrice Police earlier said they had recovered five weapons taken in the break-in.

The prosecution and defense agree to jointly recommend a four-year probation term.  Blair could receive up to 40 years in prison.
