Update: Name of Lincoln woman shot in chest released

Lincoln Police have released the name of a woman recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

LINCOLN - Lincoln Police have released the name of a woman recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

 

Police said 26-year-old Linda Sonthixay showed up to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest Wednesday around 11 a.m.

Sonthixay told police she was at her home near 17th and B streets when a man entered and shot her. She said a friend drove her to the hospital.

Witnesses reported seeing two men in hooded sweatshirts getting into a white Honda Civic.

Police said Sonthixay's injuries are non life-threatening.

Police said the shooting was likely a targeted attack and not random.
